My instructor donated this saxophone that had been collecting dust in his basement for several years. I gave the instrument a complete overhaul. This was the first instrument I ever repaired, so I had to learn as I went along. With all the work and training, I spent over one hundred hours on this horn.
The complete overhaul included taking every piece of the instrument apart. Once apart, I flushed the instrument through a chemical tank to sanitize it. Every removable piece on the horn was replaced. I replaced everything with brand-new corks, brand-new felts, and brand-new pads. This can cost a professional repair technician up to $1000.
This instrument will be going to future musicians at the Franklin Middle School in Bristol Township.
